Autodesk plans to transform its 3D design, engineering, and entertainment tools to web browsers like IE 10, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Opera. This will consist of Autodesk Inventor, Revit, Maya and 3ds Max.
Previously Autodesk had made a a video codec collaboration with Mozilla and cloud rendering company OTOY which will facilitate the browsers to run high speed rendering application like Autodesk and high-definition video without plug-ins.
For this purpose Autodesk has made a knot with Amazon Web Services. Amazon Web Services just introduced the latest instance with Nvidia Grid graphics processing units for 3D modeling along with the new tools for mobile app developers.
Amazon Web Services will introduce G2 instances based on the GPU front. It is a flexible Compute Cloud service catering to 3D graphics. The service focuses on graphic intensive endeavors like visualizations and large workloads. The shift obtains the GPU cloud services from AWS away from the core high performance computing workloads.
There will be a compatibility between Autodesk's Remote software suite and Amazon's on-demand EC2 GPU instances. Autodesk is also launching a free 30-day demo of the aforesaid cloud-based pieces of software.
