Vibrant construction sector keys in more than OR1.2bn worth of projects in Oman
The Sultanate of Oman has a vibrant construction sector with 2.1% growth and over OR1.2bn worth of construction projects underway or in the planning stages, according to a recent report from Business Monitor International, a leading business research and intelligence firm.
In line with this, Omnix International, the leading Building Information Modeling (BIM) solution provider, will be hosting a seminar entitled 'Autodesk Live Event 2012' on September 21, 2011 at the Crown Plaza Muscat, Oman.
The seminar is focused on raising more awareness on 2012 Autodesk BIM solutions and how the revolutionary BIM technology can support AEC professionals in executing more complex projects, reducing environmental impact and achieving better results in Oman. The leading company has teamed up with leading architects, interior designers, Structural and MEP consultants to showcase the significance of 'Autodesk 2012 Building Information Modeling' solutions within the country's booming construction industry.
The BMI report also reveals the significant potential of Oman's infrastructure sector with a number of contracts having been awarded in 2011 and substantial new investment planned. The momentum in infrastructure sector is expected to bring in an overall 5.06% real growth towards the end of the year. The confidence in the construction segment is backed by Oman's five year spending plan, which covers 2011 to 2015 and predicts over OR30bn worth of spending with a 113% increase. Of this total figure, OR6bn will go to the oil industry and OR3bn will be spent on property developments. Looking to play a key role in this expected growth, Omnix is currently keying in major strides to leverage 'Autodesk 2012 BIM' as an integrated suite of solutions across these major projects in Oman.
