WPL Webinar to Focus on the Use of BIM, Lean Processes for a California Hospital
WPL Publishing soon will hold a webinar examining the use of building information modeling (BIM) and lean processes for a Sutter hospital in Castro Valley, Calif., a project that is expected to be completed by the end of next year.
BIM is changing the way constructors do business, but it is still relatively new and there is much to learn. One of the best ways to learn is from studying how other businesses are using BIM and their trials and tribulations along the way. Toward this end, consultant Paul Teicholz will present to webinar attendees a case history that is included in the newly released second edition of BIM Handbook: A Guide to Building Information Modeling for Owners, Managers, Designers, Engineers and Contractors, which he co-authored. To register for the 90-minute webinar, scheduled for Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. (EDT), visit http://tinyurl.com/5st42ve.
Teicholz will discuss the use of integrated project delivery as an approach that allowed the project team to collaborate closely from the start of the design process through subsequent phases, producing superior results for the owner. The project is expected to meet what are considered very demanding schedule requirements at a cost that is under budget.
