This is a short preliminary course for those students who want to present 3D BIM to their AutoCAD projects for building and infrastructures. Beginning in 2016 all government projects requires BIM as a method to reduce capital cost and the carbon burden from the development and operation of the build environment. This course can give an active learning experience for all construction professionals within the introduction to the creation of a Revit BIM model.

This course can give BIM workflows and technical skills to work with Revit.

Tutor Profile: Petro Liapis has used Autodesk and alternative CAD merchandise for about 20 years. He worked as a CAD manager in a very city-based international company and as a senior CAD Technician within a large development company. Hes currently the information manager for the Estates Department of the University of Greenwich.

Eligibility: Computer knowledge and some work experience with CAD.


Language: Applicants shod be capable in written and spoken English.


Method: Informal assessment can happen through group discussion, class room activities and queries and answers sessions as guided by tutor.


Course Material: The tutor will provide materials in class.


Certificate: As the short courses are not accredited, there is no formal assessment and no qualification issued at the end of the courses, but students who attended at least 70% of the classes will receive a Certificate with the University's logo, stating that they undertook a particular course at City University London.
