What’s New- The V-Ray for Revit and 650 Free Assets!Tweet
V-Ray 5 for Revit Launches with Real-Time Visualization and Over 650 Free Assets.
The V-Ray 5 for Revit released by the Chaos (formerly Chaos Group), brings an intuitive mix of real-time and photorealistic rendering to the BIM workflow. The V-Ray 5 helps in getting a real-time view into the user’s daily Revit work using which the usercan improve the design with immediate feedback before even moving on to full photorealism with V-Ray’s final renderer.
A 3D content library which is tailored according to the needs of architecture called the Chaos Cosmos is also released with the V-Ray 5 for Revit.
What does the V-Ray 5 for Revit provide?
Real-Time Visualization with V-Ray Vision
The V-Ray Vision is an on-viewer which updates in real-time, thereby, it can offer a high-quality representation of a Revit model.
It also helps in encouraging fast and fluid design visualization all through the project. From the beginning till the end it helps the users to work through new ideas along with client feedback.
Chaos Cosmos the highly curated library has over 650 free models and HDRIs to choose from. The most common use cases are highly curated in this library which are common in architecture, including furniture, trees, cars, and people, for easy visualizations. For faster feedback a lightweight representation is shown in the viewport, during the render time the fully detailed object is available.
Some V-Ray 5’s user-friendly features are now included in the redesigned V-Ray Frame Buffer (VFB) which makes it easier to add a personal touch to the rendering.
light Mix helps in changing colours and even brightness for any light without the need for render, thereby, creating various light scenarios from a single render. There is also an option to make image adjustments such as exposure control, colour balance and colour corrections, which is why the external image editing tool is no more necessary. Using the Layer Compositor there is an extra control where render layers can be combined, this helps in creating intricate designs. You can also save presets later.
Other New Features in V-Ray 5 for Revit Include:
• New Sun and Sky
It helps in improving accuracy across the board; therefore, the light accuracy can be achieved from the point when the sun is near the horizon to right before sunrise and after sunset.
• Line Renderings
With added linework and global contour controls and material overrides the renders get an illustrative look.
• Texture Randomization
By using the texture randomization it will be easier to create subtle variations in textures along with materials for added realism.
• Stochastic Texture Tiling
It is an automatic fix for simply repeating textures.
• Coat Layer
With the usage of coat layer you can get extra reflections on polished or lacquered surfaces without using blend materials.
• Sheen Layer
It can help in getting a similar finish as to velvet, satin and silk.
• New Displacement Workflow
This can be applied to both Revit and V-Ray materials.
• Dirt and Weathering
To get the exact real ideanew controls for aging materials with procedural streaks are also added to the VRayDirtMtl.
