Korean Firms Hungry for BIM Partner with U.S. Developers

3rd April 2012

SEOUL, KOREA and DALLAS, TX, USA — Building Information Modeling (BIM), a staple among U.S. architectural and construction firms, is also making its mark globally, in countries with rapidly expanding infrastructure, such as South Korea.

Dallas, Texas-based tech company, Beck Technology (http://www.beck-technology.com), hopes that the growing global demand for BIM software, services and training will create more opportunities for its flagship DProfiler™ software. Beck Tech recently signed a partnering agreement with Korean company LineTek Systems to resell DProfiler™ in South Korea.

Park Jae-ho, Linetek Systems’ General Manager, said, “BIM has been rapidly gaining traction in Korea both in the public and private sectors. Many Architects, CMs, GCs and owners are now using BIM on projects. Beck Technology’s DProfiler™ will provide a valuable tool that fits the need in the Korean market for establishing realistic project scopes, schedules and budgets.”

The Beck Tech/LineTek Systems partnership officially debuted at a March informational seminar in Seoul with 60 participants. Beck Technology Chief Operating Officer Stewart Carroll sees big opportunities for macro BIM software tools like DProfiler™ in Korea, citing interest from major Korean construction companies. “Samsung Engineering and POSCO Engineering and Construction, two of the world’s largest general contractors in the world, requested training on DProfiler™.”

Continuing Beck Technology’s BIM push, Carroll will deliver a presentation at Korea’s BuildingSmart conference on April 21st on building technology and its impact on design and construction.
